Derek Chen joined SAIF in March 2004 and is currently Pricipal with SAIF. Prior to joining SAIF Mr. Chen has worked with CITIC Frontier China Research, Hong Kong/Shanghai as an Investment Analyst. He was an Associate, Equity Research with Thomas Weisel Partners, San Francisco and has also worked with Cisco Systems, San Jose. Before that he was working for Procter & Gamble.

Mr. Chen is an Electrical Engineering Graduate from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has done his MBA from Columbia Business School.
